Use the Budget Exports to Text to modify your budget and then import the new figures into Budget Management using the Data Import feature on the Administration menu.
The exports can be reached by selecting Exports > Budget > Budget Detail Export To Text and Budget Header Export To Text.
Note: The export options are the same for both the header and detail files.
Select the Cycle whose budget figures you want to export.
Select the Budget State — adopted, adjusted, proposed, or advised. Note: Only funds whose state match the selected state will be included in the export file.
Budget Header Export to Text: Lists the cycle name and fund element value. Sample
Budget Detail Export to Text: Includes cycle name, fund element value, pool number, account code, account type name, current amount, and the auto-create indicator. Sample
Review the budget header to make sure it contains all the fund element values for which you want to import a budget.
If it doesn't, open the .txt file with Excel, add the needed fund element values with their cycle, and save the file as .txt.
Open the budget detail file with Excel.
Change the amounts to the proposed amounts.
Save the file as .txt.
Use the header and detail .txt files in the Data Import as needed to create, adjust, and revise budgets.
