An enabled deduction or benefit cannot be edited because enabled deductions/benefits are available for assignment to employees and then the encumbrance of funds. Changes to the deduction/benefit may affect the encumbrances, so deductions/benefits must be disabled before they can be edited. Disabling the deduction/benefit releases the encumbrances.
However if the W-2 box code or secondary W-2 box code is either 12 or 14, then these two fields and the sub codes for each can be edited on an enabled deduction. When the W-2 box code or secondary W-2 box code is either 12 or 14 and the sub code field is completed, the Display on W-2 field becomes visible, allowing you to designate if the employer portion only, the employee portion only, or both portions are included on the W-2.
You can review the jobs/addenda that have enabled percentage deductions even though the Jobs/Addenda field is disabled on enabled deductions. Click the to open the read-only Jobs/Addenda popup.
First make sure that the deductions/benefits you want to edit are in the disabled state. If they're not, disable them.
In the Manage Deductions window, check the box(es) for the disabled deduction(s) to be edited, and click the Edit button.
Make changes as necessary.
Click the Save button if editing a single deduction OR the Save and Next button to edit the other deductions you selected.
After editing the deductions, enable them, making them available for assignment to employees. Click here for instructions.
