Only checks in the Pending state can be verified.
After verification, checks are moved into the Printed state, where they can be reprinted or voided if necessary.
Verifying a payroll liability check/EFT payment records the payment transaction in the general ledger.
When all checks/EFT payments on a voucher are paid, the voucher gets the Paid status.
If a liability check within a Paid voucher is later voided, the initial transaction entry for that check is voided and posted for the check amount.
To find a particular liability check or EFT payment, select Payroll Liabilities from the Payroll menu. A list of all the liabilities in the current accounting cycle is displayed and can be filtered, searched, and exported.
Select Manage Payroll Vouchers from the Payroll menu. The Manage Payroll Vouchers window opens, listing all the vouchers for the selected accounting cycle.
Select the Pending voucher, and select Print Liability Check from the More menu. The Liability Check Printing window opens displaying the selected Voucher number.
Select the Payment Type — Regular or EFT — by clicking the appropriate radio button. The window will now display the checks or EFT payments on this voucher for the first bank account, along with their status.
Select the New checks/EFT payments you want to verify, or check the box at the top of the grid to select all.
Click Verify, and a dialog opens showing the number of checks/EFT payments to be verified.
Click OK. The checks/EFT payments are verified and you're notified how many were verified.
Click Close, and the checks/EFT payments receive the Paid status.
Repeat as needed for other checks & EFT payments.
