Set the Element Value Account Type

Each controlling element value must have an account type. You may select the account types individually as you add element values to the controlling element, but you may also be able to speed the process by using the Set Account Type command to select account types for a group of element values.

The command is only available for element values that haven't been used in any transactions.

  1. Select Element Value Maintenance from the Chart of Accounts menu, and the Element Value Maintenance window opens.

  2. Select the account Structure from the pull-down list if it hasn't defaulted to the structure in which you want to work.

  3. Select controlling element from the Select Element pull-down list, and the existing element values are displayed.

  4. Check the box(es) for the element value(s) for which you want to designate account types.

  5. Select Set Account Type from the More menu, and the Select Account Type window opens.

  6. Select the Account Type from the pull-down list, and click OK.
