Fill a Position

Filling a position ties an employee's job to a controlled position in Position Management.

  1. Select Manage Employees from the Human Resources menu, and that window opens.

  2. Use the Search feature or a filter to display the employee for whom you want to fill a position.

  3. Click the Display Name link, or check the box for the employee, and click Edit. The Employee Details window opens.

  4. If needed, close the collapsible sections to make it easier to see the tabs at the bottom of the popup.

  5. On the Jobs tab, add the controlled position to the employee if it is not already added. Check the box for the position you want to fill, and select Fill Position from the More menu. The Fill Position window opens with the Vacant Only radio button selected.

  6. Select the Position from the drop-down, and click Save. You may see a notification that this job would cause the actual FTE to exceed the budgeted FTE. If you wish to overfill the position anyway, click Yes. You'll see a notification of success when the position has been filled.
