Some fields on a master position can be edited no matter what status the position has, but positions must be in certain states to edit other fields.
Type can only be edited when the master position is in the Disabled & Inactive state.
The Supplemental field can't be edited if the master position is Active.
Prefix: Whenever the prefix is changed, each position’s number will be changed to incorporate the new prefix . Also, a Renumbered type Position History record will be created for each affected position.
Select Master Position Management from the Human Resources menu, and the window opens.
Check the box for the position you want to edit, and click Edit, or click the Name link for the position. The Master Position Detail window opens.
Edit the fields as needed.
Click Account Code to edit the accounts if needed.
Click Save. Note: If you've changed the begin and/or end date, you'll be asked if you want to update all non-filled positions which have an account code and are related to this master position.
