About Accrual Schedules and Frequencies

About the Fiscal Year accrual schedule type

Using the fiscal year accrual schedule, leave accrual frequency can be set to the beginning of the month, beginning of the pay period, beginning of the year, evenly over job dates, evenly over months, fixed date, legacy, or none.

The fixed date frequency allows for different contract start dates within the same district by allowing the user to enter an Accrual Date when accruals are created using this frequency.

About the Hours Worked accrual schedule type

Accrual records for the Hours Worked accrual schedule type are created automatically immediately before the Leave Accrual Posting process on the last day of a payroll period.

When the Accrual Schedule is Hours Worked, the Accrual Frequency options are One Per 10 Hours Worked, One Per 20 Hours Worked, etc., through One Per 80 Hours Worked, in 10 hour increments.

This accrual schedule type calculates and accrues an exact amount of leave, often resulting in amounts that are not whole hours. When this happens, the remainder that isn’t in whole hours is saved and added into the calculation for the next period.
