Use account code security groups to easily designate what account codes a type of user can access. You'll assign users to account code security groups in the Manage Users window.
Select Security, then Account Code Security, from the Administration menu. The Account Code Security window opens.
Click the Add button at the bottom of the window, and the Account Code Security Detail window opens.
Enter a Group Name — for example a job title or department.
Optional. Enter a Group Description, if desired.
Click the Permissions button, and the Account Code Expression Assistant window opens. The elements may differ from the example since they'll be based on your account code structure.
Select the Account Type. Options are: Balance Sheet, Revenue, or Expenditure. Note: For account structures that use different elements based on account type groups, the Account Type pull-down list includes the <All> option to allow the user to select from all available elements for all account type groups.
For each desired element:
Select an operator from the following: Equals, Not Equals, Greater Than or Equal To, Greater Than, Less Than or Equal To, Less Than, or Between.
Click in the second field to select from the available element values.
When finished, click Apply. You'll see the filter expression. If needed, you can click the button again to change any elements.
Click Save, and the record is saved and designated as Inactive.
Click the Return to Account Code Security link in the upper right corner to return to the Account Code Security window.
