Use the Move Asset Item command to move an Accepted or Depreciated asset item to an existing asset or a new asset.
The process copies the item information from the original asset to the destination asset and creates a history line item. You can create the Transfer Report to view the changes.
This process is useful after you've performed a physical inventory. Use the Mark as Inventoried command either before or after moving asset items to add a history record indicating when an asset was inventoried.
Select Asset Management from the Purchasing & Payables / Capital Assets menu. The Asset Management window opens.
Check the box for the asset from which you want to move an item, and click Edit or click the Asset No. link. The Edit Asset window opens.
Check the box for the asset item you want to split, and select Split Asset Item, from the More menu. The Move Asset Item popup opens.
Select one of the following options:
A newly created asset: Choosing this option will cause AptaFund to create a new asset, using all the information from the original asset except the asset number and date entered.
An existing asset: Choosing this option will copy the item's information to the specified asset.
Select the Asset Number to which you want to move the asset item.
Click OK.
