Element values are automatically enabled when they're created, but you may need to enable element values that have been previously disabled.
You can disable both active and inactive element values. If you disable an active element value, you can choose to disable related accounts for either the current accounting cycle or all open accounting cycles.
Select Element Value Maintenance from the Chart of Accounts menu, and the Element Value Maintenance window opens.
Select the account Structure from the pull-down list if it hasn't defaulted to the structure in which you want to work.
Select the Element whose element value(s) you want to enable, and the existing element values are displayed.
Check the box(es) for the element value(s) you want to enable, and select Enable Element Values from the More menu. You're asked to confirm the action.
Click Yes.
If you're enabling an inactive element value, you're returned to the Element Value Maintenance window and notified of success or failure.
If you're enabling
an active element value,
the Enable
Associated Account Codes popup opens with the message, "There
are account codes associated with the selected element value.
Would you like to Enable the related account codes?"
Click either Current Accounting
Cycle or All Open Accounting
Cycles, and click Yes.
Note: If
an account code containing the element value currently being enabled
was previously disabled in the Chart of Accounts window, it will
be enabled along with all other associated account codes. This
applies to both the current accounting cycle or all cycles.
You're returned to the Element Value Maintenance window and notified
of success or failure.
