Use the Element Value Maintenance window to create, edit, and delete element values, create and edit element value hierarchies, and assign balancing account types to controlling elements.
You can add element values manually or by import.
The values you create define the element. For example, you may have created a Site element in Structure Maintenance, and now you'll add values to the element like 001, 002, 003, etc. to represent each of your buildings.
You'll place the values in a hierarchy to determine how accounts roll up in the General Ledger and how accounts can be pooled in Budget Management.
You'll use the element values defined here to build account codes in the Chart of Accounts window.
Enabled: Element values are automatically enabled on creation and are available to be used in creating account codes.
Disabled: The element value is no longer available for use in creating new account codes. The element value is available for use in transactions for any account code that contained it prior to it being disabled, and account codes that contain this element value will show on reports.
Active: One or more account codes in the Chart of Accounts use this element value. The account code doesn't have to be in use in the system; it only has to be used in an account code. These element values may not be deleted but their descriptions may be changed.
Inactive: The element value has not been used in an account code.
