Use the Redate Transactions feature when a posted transaction was dated incorrectly and you only need to change the transaction date.
This process will create two new transactions for each selected transaction.
First, it will create a reversal of the transaction on its original date.
Secondly, a copy of the original transaction will be created using the transaction date specified in the popup.
Both transactions will automatically be posted.
This feature can be accessed both from the Transaction Journal grid and the Edit Journal Entry popup.
Select Transaction Journal from the General Ledger menu, and that window opens.
Check the box(es) for the posted transaction(s) you want to re-date, and select Redate Transaction(s) from the More menu. The Redate Transactions popup opens.
Change the New Transaction Date if you don't want to use the default of today's date.
Click Redate Transaction(s). Void transactions are created with the original dates reversing the action of the originals, and copies of the originals are created with the new transaction date. The Result window opens displaying the new transaction number(s).
Click Close when you're done reviewing the transactions.
