Use the Master Position Management window to create "template" positions.
Master positions can be controlled or uncontrolled. Click here for more information about controlled & uncontrolled positions.
When a master position is uncontrolled, you add jobs to employees in Manage Employees or Employee Jobs. You don't have to first add positions in Position Management.
When a master position is controlled, you must first add positions in Position Management and then fill them in Manage Employees or Employee Jobs.
Calendars must be defined in HR Configuration before you can create master positions.
Master positions must be enabled before they're available for use.
Enabled master positions are available for use with positions or employee jobs; disabled master positions are not available for use.
Active master positions are currently used in at least one non-New position or Approved employee job; inactive master positions aren't currently being used in any non-New positions or Approved employee jobs.
