Master positions in AptaFund are templates for the jobs to which employees are linked. All positions are defined in Master Position Management, but they're assigned to employees in two different ways, depending on whether they're controlled or uncontrolled positions.
Implementing position control allows the manager to determine the number of master position "slots" that are filled by employees. With controlled positions, HR staff doesn't have to know the account codes; they just enter salary amounts when they fill the positions. Position control also allows you to get an accurate FTE count by account code.
When position control isn't used, the HR operator can link an unlimited number of positions to employees by adding jobs in Manage Employees or Employee Jobs.
Both controlled & uncontrolled positions are created in Master Position Management.
You can have both controlled and uncontrolled positions in your system if you want.
