Use the Set Mass Days/Hours feature to enter the hours or days worked for a group of employees who require time entry for every pay period and work the same number of hours/days.
This feature is only available for payroll registers in the New state.
This feature cannot be used to record overtime for hourly employees. If you need to enter OT hours and/or edit the OT rate or allocation, you'll have to use the Job Edit or Batch Edit feature.
If you need to enter different hours or days for employees, use the Job Edit or Batch Edit feature.
Create a filter in the Register Details window to select the jobs for which you want to enter days or hours. Then click the box at the top of the column of checkboxes to select all the filtered records before you click the Set Mass Days/Hours button.
Select Manage Payroll from the Payroll menu. The Manage Payroll window opens listing all the payroll registers for the selected accounting cycle.
Select a New payroll register, and click the Edit button at the top of the window, OR click the Register number link. The Register Details window opens.
You may want to use the Type pull-down list and/or other filters to narrow the list of jobs.
In the Register Details window, select the job type from the Type pull-down list.
Create a filter to further narrow the list of jobs. See Filters for instructions. For example if you want to enter hours for teacher aides, you'd create a filter where Job Name Contains or is Equal To Teacher Aide.
Check the boxes for the jobs for which you want to enter hours or click the box at the top of the grid to select all jobs.
Select the Set Mass Days/Hours command from the More menu, and the Set Mass Days/Hours popup window opens.
Complete the fields as described.
Column: Select the Time category — e.g. Regular. Remember: You can't set overtime hours in this window; you enter them in Edit Jobs or Batch Edit Jobs.
Days/Hours: Enter the number of days or hours for which the employee should get paid for this job/addendum on this register.
Click Save, and the Result window opens.
Click Close when you're done reviewing the results.
Repeat steps 3 - 8 to set hours or days for additional employees as needed.
