You can enter time and overtime only on a New payroll register.
Use the Edit Jobs feature on a new payroll register to:
enter regular time for daily & hourly jobs — required for daily jobs & hourly timesheet-type jobs
enter overtime for hourly jobs
edit overtime rates for hourly jobs
enter time for a single employee or a group of employees
edit account code allocations. Note: If an employee’s time should always be charged to a different account code, make the update in Manage Employees.
dock pay for salary jobs. Note: Default days for salary jobs are displayed in the Register Details window and can't be changed using the Job Edit feature. Docking pay on a payroll register is used for a one-time immediate dock. Click here instead if you need to set up a recurring dock in Employee Payroll Information.
Select Manage Payroll from the Payroll menu. The Manage Payroll window opens listing all the payroll registers for the selected accounting cycle.
Select a New payroll register, and click the Edit button at the top of the window, OR click the Register number link. The Register Details window opens. Note: If the overtime columns aren't displayed, you can choose to display them in the grid using Table Display Settings.
You may want to use the Type pull-down list and/or other filters to narrow the list of jobs for which you want to enter time.
In the Register Details window, select the job type from the Type pull-down list.
Create a filter to further narrow the list of jobs. See Filters for instructions. For example if you want to enter hours for teacher aides, you'd create a filter where Job Name Contains or is Equal To Teacher Aide.
Check the boxes for the jobs for which you want to enter time, or click the box at the top of the grid to select all jobs. Note: If you're editing time for a single job, you can click the Display Name link to open the Job Edit popup window.
Click the Edit button above the grid, and the Job Edit popup window opens. This window will have different fields available for editing depending on the job type. Sample Daily Sample Hourly Sample Salary
Enter regular hours for daily & hourly jobs as needed.
Enter OT hours for hourly jobs as needed. The default OT rate is 1.5 x hourly rate. You can enter just the hours, and the account code will default to the account code for the regular hours. Note: If you need to change the OT hourly rate or multiplier for this payroll period, click the OT Details button, and follow the instructions below.
Enter or edit account codes and allocations as needed. See Account Code Assistant and Account Code Allocation for help.
Dock pay by entering the number of Dock Days. The system will calculate the Dock Amount based on the gross pay. You can edit this amount as needed.
If editing multiple
records, click Save and Next
to move to the next record.
If editing a single record, click Save.

Go to Manage Payroll Overview
When you need to change the OT hourly rate or multiplier, you can enter the OT hours in the Job Edit window or in the OT Details window.
When you click the OT Details button, this window opens. The illustration shows an example of first entering the hours in the Job Edit window, and then clicking OT Details.
If you need to change the OT hourly rate, click the Update OT Hourly Rate button, and a popup window opens. Note: You can only change the OT hourly rate after you've entered OT hours.
Enter the Hourly Rate, and click Save. The new rate is saved, and the popup closes.
If
you haven't entered hours, click the Add
button, and the Over
Time Allocation popup window opens.
If you've already entered hours and saved them in the Job
Edit window, check the box for the hours, and click the Edit button. The OT
Details window opens displaying the hours you entered. Check the
box for the OT hours, and click the Edit
button, and the Over
Time Allocation popup window opens.
Edit the Hourly Rate if needed — for example, when an employee works two jobs with different pay rates and the overtime rate must be blended.
Enter the OT Hours with up to two decimal places, if you haven't already done so.
Enter or edit the Multiplier with up to two decimal places.
Enter or edit the Account Code and Allocation as needed.
Click Save, then Cancel to return to the OT Details window, or click Save and Add to enter additional OT hours when the employee earns at a different rate if working more than a certain amount of overtime.
