Scheduled jobs can be designed to automate jobs such as those in the Employee Self-Service module to notify approvers there are requests awaiting their action.

Select Scheduled Jobs from the Administration menu. The Scheduled Jobs list window opens.
Click Add, and the Scheduled Jobs window opens.
Complete the fields as described. Required fields are marked with a red asterisk (*).
Job Type: Select from the pull-down list. The types are determined by Harris, and currently the only type available is email.
Job Origin Type: Select from the pull-down list. The types are determined by Harris, and they are reminder emails for leave request approvals, job requisition approvals, purchase requisition approvals, replenishment purchase requisitions approvals, warehouse requisition approvals, reimbursement approvals, ESS employee document passed due dates, and employee deduction requests, as well as ESS employee document emails.
Start Date: Enter the date in mm/dd/yy format, or click the button to select the date on which the job should start.
End Date: Enter the date in mm/dd/yy format, or click the button to select the date on which the job should end.
Starts at: Enter the time in hh:mm format, or click the button to select the time at which the job should start.
Ends at: Enter the time in hh:mm format, or click the button to select the time at which the job should end.
Interval Type: Select from Once, Minutes, Hours, and Days.
Interval: Enter an integer, or click the up & down arrows to select.
Execute on: If applicable, check the boxes for the days on which the job should run.
Job Description: Enter text to describe the job as needed.
Click Save.
You can use the scheduled jobs parameters to set up jobs at the following intervals: one time, once a week, two or more days a week, every other day, every day, every so many hours, every hour, or every so many minutes.
Enter the date on which you want the job to run as both Start & End Date.
Select Once as the Interval Type.
Leave the Interval as 1.
Don't check the Execute on boxes.
Enter Start & End Dates.
Enter Start & End Times if you want the job to run at a particular time during the day.
Select Days as the Interval Type.
Enter an Interval of 7.
Check the Execute on box for the day on which the job should run.
Enter Start & End Dates.
Enter Start & End Times if you want the job to run at a particular time during the day.
Select Days as the Interval Type.
Leave the Interval as 1.
Check the Execute on boxes for the day(s) on which the job should run.
Enter Start & End Dates.
Enter Start & End Times if you want the job to run at a particular time during the day.
Select Days as the Interval Type.
Enter an Interval of 2.
Don't check the Execute on boxes.
Enter Start & End Dates.
Enter Start & End Times if you want the job to run at a particular time during the day.
Select Days as the Interval Type.
Leave the Interval as 1.
Don't check the Execute on boxes unless you want to run the job just on weekdays.
Every hour or every so many hours — for example, every 2 hours:
Enter Start & End Dates.
Enter Start & End Times if you just want the job to run part of the day.
Select Hours as the Interval Type.
Enter the Interval — 1 to run every hour, or 2 for our example of every two hours.
Check the Execute on boxes for the days on which the job should run, if you don't want to run it every day.
Enter Start & End Dates.
Enter Start & End Times if you just want the job to run part of the day.
Select Minutes as the Interval Type.
Enter the Interval — 15 for our example.
Check the Execute on boxes for the days on which the job should run, if you don't want to run it every day.
