Vacating a position eliminates the link between an employee's job and a position in Position Management, opening the position to being filled by another employee.
Select Manage Employees from the Human Resources menu, and that window opens.
Use the Search feature or a filter to display the employee for whom you want to fill a position.
Click the Display Name link, or check the box for the employee, and click Edit. The Employee Details window opens.
If needed, close the collapsible sections to make it easier to see the tabs at the bottom of the popup.
On to the Jobs tab, check the box(es) for the position(s) you want to vacate, and select Vacate Position from the More menu. You'll be asked to confirm that you want to vacate the positions associated with the selected jobs.
Click Yes to vacate the position(s). When complete, a notification of the number of positions vacated will be displayed.
