Employee Self-Service administrators have certain functions that only they can access and perform. But they are also employees, and as such should refer to topics about ESS employee features.
When you login as an ESS admin, you'll see additional features in the HR, Payroll & ESS > Employee Self-Service menu.
Set up the leave approval process.
Edit Payroll Configuration values that govern leave request validation.
Create approval levels (often job titles) & assign approvers to the levels.
Create at least one approval process — assign at least one approval level, and if more than one level, determine the order in which the levels process the leave requests.
Set up document management.
Optional. Create categories by which to designate features that will apply to a whole group of documents, including whether the documents will require employee acknowledgment.
Enter screen instructions.
Assign permissions so employees will be able to see and access ESS.
Assign the ESS Employee security template to a group of employees.
Add & edit user permissions for individual employees.
Add ESS user accounts.
Invite users to register for ESS.
Schedule system emails to notify approvers there are requests awaiting their action.
